Roshni Kannan is an aspiring writer, researcher and academician. She completed her undergraduate degree in Architecture with a minor in Interior Design from Marg Institute of Design and Architecture, Swarnabhoomi. Her 2-year experience in the field of architectural practice and passion towards history prompted her to pursue her growing inclination towards built environment research.

She subsequently pursued her postgraduate degree in Architectural History and Theory from CEPT University from 2018-2020. During this time, her relationship with the built and the urban evolved along with her passion for history, and helped her understand the various lenses through which built-unbuilt relationships could be studied.

Upon graduating, she collaborated with the Sociology Department at Cornell University, New York as a Research Associate on an urban research project in Ahmedabad. Following this, she taught at her alma-mater as a part of the Foundation Studio for two years, while pursuing her research interests simultaneously.

Roshni is an avid reader, dancer and consumer of culture. Her research interests lie in the fringes of architecture, popular media and global cultures, particularly around the relationships between her home state Tamil Nadu and Southeast Asian cultures.
