Chinchu Kumar Sreekandan was born in Kulasekaram, Tamilnadu a culturally plural rural town. He moved to Chennai for his higher education and studied Diploma in Civil Engineering at Central Polytechnic, Taramani, Chennai. After completing his diploma worked as an Assistant officer at
Voltas Ltd, Coimbatore. To pursue his quest for design and art he quit his job in 2007 and got admission with merit to pursue Architecture at the School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai from where he graduated in 2012.

After graduation, he moved to Mumbai to work with Rahul Mehrotra Architects as an Associate architect between 2012- 2014. Having a keen interest in art allowed him to collaborate with the Clarke House Initiative, in Mumbai. He has been part of a collaborative project and Exhibited in Art
Chennai, he further explored artistic mediums and created various site-specific works. Upon return to Kerala, he founded Fictional Project in 2016, partnering with Julie Ann Tharakan, a practice born out of their shared interest in architecture, to express, collaborate with people, and contribute to themselves and society. The practice over the years shall be well defined as “informed architecture”. The realization of space for architecture is not how they would like to limit their practice. The firm is a rising practice with works being published in “Future trajectories” of architecture live , The design Collective and Shortlisted entry for “The merit list 2021”


Before joining the Foundation Studio team at Seed, Chinchu has previously taught, imparted knowledge, and nurtured young minds in architecture at the College of Architecture, Trivandrum, and Wadiyar Center for Architecture, Mysuru.
