Together, at the same time

Taking inspiration from Andrea Branzi’s No-Stop City, the exhibition aims to express a new polemic of democratic, non-hierarchical space. The existing geometry of Durbar Hall is modulated, manipulated and extended indefinitely into an illusionary, infinite place with the addition of homogeneous elements adapted for various uses. Unconsciously, a visitor is offered a unique perception of the space, allowing them to view a familiar venue with a new lens. With the intention of making the space more legible, the deliberate subdivisions and interruptions introduced follow universal codes of grid geometries that further establish the simultaneity of the exhibition. Display tables turn to reading platforms, totems are obscure bookshelves. Inviting the audience to engage with and participate in the installations allows a huge degree of freedom within a regulated space and system. It translates the immediacy and collective nature of the work done at seed and places it on the brink of time, abreast with what is happening in Kerala and the larger world. The presence of the future.
